|     TAJUK SUB-TAJUK OBJEKTIF  |        Listening   Skill       -   Listening for the main idea and specific details/information General Students   will be able to listen for the main subject or topic of the news item,   speech, talk or discussion they are listening to. Specific Students   will be able to listen to the talk on the reasons obese people give for being   overweight  |   
|     AKTIVITI     |              -   Students listen very carefully to the talk and pay attention to the context   in which key words or phrases occur.       -   When they listen for the specific details or information, they pay particular   attention to the following types of information such as names of people,   places and things, statistics, events, reasons and causes.   |   
|     CATATAN   / REFLEKSI  |              -   Most of the students were able to answer thequestions pertaining to reasons   people being overweight.  |

|     TAJUK SUB-TAJUK OBJEKTIF  |        Listening   skill i.   Summarising and paraphrasing General Students   will be able to summarise the main or general ideas of a text or a speech.  Specific Students   will be able to summarise and paraphrase between the notes and the talk.   |   
|     AKTIVITI     |              - As   the students listen to the talk they will note that the speaker signals each   point using discourse markers, e.g. firstly, secondly, finally, etc which   makes it very easy for them to follow this talk and make short notes       -   Students listen carefully and note the main supporting details.        -   They then carefully compare the talk with the notes to see how the talk has   been summarised and paraphrased into those short notes.  |   
|     CATATAN   / REFLEKSI  |              -   Most of the students were not able to predict what the speaker was going to   say so the teacher had to guide them in writing the prediction.  |

|     TAJUK SUB-TAJUK OBJEKTIF  |        Writing   Skill       -   THESIS STATEMENT General Students   will be able to write the thesisi statement of an essay as the controlling   idea of an essay Specific Students   will be able to listen to develop a thesis statement for the broad subjects   given as a practice.  |   
|     AKTIVITI     |             -   Students revise back as a reinforcement about the importance of thesis   statement      -   Thesis statement is a sentence that contains the controlling idea of an essay      - It   should not be too broad, or too vague      - It   is the focus of the essay and therefore should be specific      - The   thesis statement is usually found at the end of the introductory paragraph  |   
|     CATATAN   / REFLEKSI  |             - Most   of the students find this lesson quite a challenge to understand therefore   they need further practice on the writing of thesis statement.  |

Making prediction Specific Students   will be able to predict what is going to happen next using their general   knowledge and clues in the discourse they are listening to. General Students   will be able to write about what the speaker is going to talk about.  |   
|     AKTIVITI     |             - In   the introduction, students hear the speaker clearly saying that he is going   to them few ideas on how to communicate better with their parents      - The   phrase “how” indicates that students can expect to hear about ways or methods   of improving their communications with their parents.      - By   making this prediction, the anticipate the information that they are going to   hear and therefore, their ability to uderstand and remember the information   increases.   |   
|     CATATAN   / REFLEKSI  |             -   Majority of the students were not able to predict what the speaker was going   to say so the teacher had to guide them in writing the prediction.  |

|     TAJUK SUB-TAJUK OBJEKTIF  |        Writing   Skill       -   Developing a Thesis statement: Eercises A & B General Students   will be able to write the limited subject for the general subject given for   the 5 list. Specific Students   will be able to write a thesis statement for each of the general subject   given  |   
|     AKTIVITI     |              - Students   revise the steps in developing a thesis statement with the tr       -   Students do some practice with the tr to reinforce their understanding in   writing thesis statement       -   After they had rewrite the statements to become effective thesis statement in   exercise A students continue writing the thesis statement in exercise B in a   different way.       - The   tr guides the students in constructing their thesis statements for the   general subject given -   |   
|     CATATAN   / REFLEKSI  |              -   Students were quite able to write simple thesis statements for the list given   under the tr.’s guide.  |

|     TAJUK SKILL SUB-TAJUK CCTS OBJEKTIF  |        Expansion of sentences Writing Skill - Expansion of sentences -            To revise   basic sentence patterns in English 1.        Making associations or connections 2.        Comparing and contrasting General Students will be able to expand sentences using   the questions words such as who?what?when?why?and how? Specific Students will be able to expand the sentences by   adding information to different parts of the sentences.   |   
|     AKTIVITI   |        -            Tr explains   that in writing all types of sentences can be used to make a piece writing   more interesting by adding more information using question words such as   who?what?why?when?how?, etc -            This   information can be placed in different parts of the sentences as given in the   examples -            Students   are given 10 sentences to expand using the question words such as   who?when?why? etc -            Students practice   expanding the sentences by adding information to different parts of each   sentence.  |   
|     CATATAN / REFLEKSI  |        Most of the students were quite able to expand   the sentences using the questions given under the teacher’s guide.  |

|     TAJUK SUB-TAJUK OBJEKTIF  |        Listening   Skill       -   Listening for main ideas and supporting details  General Students   will be able to listen for main ideas and supporting details Specific Students   will be able to listen to the announcement and answer the 3 texts pertaining   to the news item.  |   
|     AKTIVITI     |              -   Teacher explains that when students listen to any oral discourse they will   find that it contains one or more main idea.       - The   main idea is the gist or the summary of the most important points in the   discourse.      - Very   often, the main idea is supported by examples, descriptions, narratives,   definitions, statistics, and quotations.      - The   supporting details help to expand upon or develop the main idea.     -   Students answer the 3 texts pertaining to the announcement, news item, etc in   the worksheet given while listening to the CD.   |   
|     CATATAN   / REFLEKSI  |             - Most   of the students were unable to get most of the answers correct the second   time the CD was played so the teacher had to do correction with them by   playing the CD several times again.   |

To   use the correct expressions when asking for directions and responding to   requests for directions (giving directions) General Students   will be able to use the correct expressions when asking for directions and   respondings to requests for directions (giving directions)  Specific Students   will be able to ask and give directions to the post office and the airport   when asked by someone.  |   
|     AKTIVITI     |              - Tr   explains that when we ask for directions we have to be very clear About   the place or building that we are looking for, for example the post office,   the railway station, the mall or the cinema.       - Tr   gives some examp[les on the useful expressions used in asking for directions.       -   Students practice saying the expressions orally while asking directions from   their friends and they respond by using the correct expressions.   |
