ACTIVITY	- Teacher explains to the students that when they are asked to write a summary of a paragraph or text, they are required to select the key points and restate them in their own words without altering the ideas and attitude of the writer      - We need to summarise in order to i. Simplify the text so that it is easy to remember ii. To answer exam questions iii. To report on information      - Tr shows some sentences and get students to practice paraphrasing the sentences to develop their skill in paraphrasing.
REFLECTION	- Most of the students were able to paraphrase the simple sentences given to them with the teacher’s guide.

SPEC. : PEDAGOGICAL STRATEGY: OBJEKTIF	Writing component Expository writing      - To define concepts and explaining ideas in an essay Mastery learning General Students will be able to define concepts and to explain ideas in an essay Specific Students will be able to write a paragraph that defines one of the terms given such as feminist and chaperone.
ACTIVITY	- Tr explains that the basic puirpose of expository writing is to inform, to explain or simply to help readers understand the message in the text they are reading      - Expository writing appears in many forms namely reviews, articles, case histories, definitions, illustrations, interpretations, etc.      - Students will learn to focus on the definition of concepts and explanation of ideas      - In the course of dealing with other people, we might have to define concepts or terms that we use      - We may either use a dictionary definition or an informal definition based on our understanding of the concept      - Students learn an example of defining a concept based on a situation given about a person named Mary.      - Later, students continue their learning on defining concepts such as defining according to purpose, descriptive definition, logical definition and process definition
REFLECTION	- This lesson is quite challenging for the students to understand so the teacher had to repeat his explanation to get the students to understand the idea of defining concepts.

AKTIVITI	- Tr explains that in a discussion we often have to respond to the point that has been raised      - We may show our agreement or disagreement with the point      - When we do this we are responding to the agreement or disagreement expressed earlier by others in the discussion      - Students practice some of the common expressions used to respond to agreement and disagreement
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	- Students were able to learn some expressions to express their agreement on a particular issue with a particular point in a discussion

AKTIVITI	-          Teacher explains to the students that recalling information is recollecting or remembering what they have listened or learnt -          They need to recall what they have learnt in order to make their learning useful -          Students are given a text to read and after that trying to recall back the infor when the techer asks them what it is about.
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	-          Most of the students were able to understand the lesson well.

AKTIVITI	- Tr continues his explanations on summarising paragraphs by reminding the students that when they summarise paragraphs they must i. Be able to read and ensure that they understand the paragraph ii. Find the topic sentence or the main idea of the paragraph iii. Leave out unnecessary details like examples, illustrations and repertoires iv. Using their own words to link key words or ideas      - Tr gets the students to practice summarising the paragraph into few sentences about advertisements.
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	- Students were able to practice writing the summary of the paragraph under the teacher’s guide.

AKTIVITI	-          Teacher explains to the students the function of transitional signals in making the ideas of sentences go smooth, i.e. having coherence ((of an argument or theory) logical and consistent. able to speak clearly and logically) -          Teacher shows how transitional signals are used in writing sentences to make them flow smoothly and connected. -          Students practice writing sentences using T.S. -          Students are then asked to write the intro and the first para. of the content of their essay given above
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	Students progress was quite slow but they were able to write the sentences required using T.S.
