ACTIVITY
Teacher explains to the students that when they are asked to write a summary of a paragraph or text, they are required to select the key points and restate them in their own words without altering the ideas and attitude of the writer
We need to summarise in order to
Simplify the text so that it is easy to remember
To answer exam questions
To report on information
Tr shows some sentences and get students to practice paraphrasing the sentences to develop their skill in paraphrasing.
REFLECTION
Most of the students were able to paraphrase the simple sentences given to them with the teacher’s guide.
