AKTIVITI	- Teacher explains to the students that when students response to questions that ask for opinions, they may use the expessions below to give their opinions such as i. Personally, i think... ii. I strongly believe that ... iii. I am quite ... iv. I am convinced ... v. I think - Students practice giving their opinions using the expressions taught on an issue given by the teacher.
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	- students need a lot of guidance in order to be able to give their opinions using the expressions taught without referring to the sentences given on the board.

General Students will be able to use specific expressions to distinguish factual information from opinions Specific Students will be able to express factual information such as "research has shown that ..." and "In my opinion ..." to give personal opinions.
AKTIVITI	i. Teacher explains to the students that when a speaker discusses a subject, he usually conveys a lot of factual information ii. At the same time he may also add hos own opinions i.i. what he thinks or believes about the subject or issue iii. Therefore, to distinguish between factual information from opinions a speaker usually uses specific expressions such as: Research has shown that ... According to Professor ... It has been found that ... These are some common expressions used to express factual information Below are some common expressions used to give personal opinions; In my opinion ... I believe ... I personally believe ... iv. Students practice giving factual information and personal opinions using the expressions taught to them on a given issue.
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	- most of the students were not able to give oral response regarding factual information and personal opinions as their command of the language was very low.

ACTIVITY	- Teacher explains to the students that when they are asked to write a summary of a paragraph or text, they are required to select the key points and restate them in their own words without altering the ideas and attitude of the writer - We need to summarise in order to i. Simplify the text so that it is easy to remember ii. To answer exam questions iii. To report on information - Tr shows some sentences and get students to practice paraphrasing the sentences to develop their skill in paraphrasing.
REFLECTION	- the students need a lot of guidance from the teacher to guide them to paraphrase

AKTIVITI	- Tr explains to the students that they will make use of the skill that they have learnt to complete certain tasks - Students practice listening to various kind of statements and then read the questions. - While they listen to the statements they circle the option that conveys the same meaning.
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	- the students were quite weak in the listening exercise as they were not able to catch up with what the speaker's said in the recording text.

AKTIVITI	- Tr explains that a cloze passage is a text in which word have been left out at regular intervals - The aim of the exercise is to choose a word which best completes the text - There are certain strategies that students can use in completing the cloze - students will be able to select the most suitable options by looking for clues provided by the surroundings or sentences - students are given a cloze passage exercise to complete by circling the correct options
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	- students were not doing well in the exercise given as their proficiency in the english language was very low.

Specific Students will be able to summarise the main points that is restating the thesis statements or the two topics given.
AKTIVITI	Teacher explains that writing conclusions should be brief Students should write a few well-worded sentences which are adequate for a short essay Teacher shows some examples on the conclusions of some chosen essays for practice with the students Students practice writing conslucions under the teacher's guide.
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	Two third of the students were able to write the conclusions satisfactorily well after a number of practice given to them.

AKTIVITI	Teacher explains to the students about the conversation they are going to listen on the radio between a mother and her teenage son Teacher discusses some difficult words with the students for them to understand the listening text thoroughly Students attempt the 5 subjective questions in the worksheet given.
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	Most of the students were unable to answer the questions well as the recording text were quite fast and they unable to keep up with it while answering the questions.

AKTIVITI	-          Teacher discusses with the students the diagram on Keys to Healthy Living with the guide of the food pyramid -          Students list out the kind of foods that should be taken more often compared to food that should be taken less due to their amount of carbohydrates and protein contents. -          After jotting down the necessary words to describe the food suitanle for eating students draft their essay with the help of their teacher.
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	Half of the students were able to construct their framework of their essay well whereas the rest need the teacher’s guide to construct their paragraphs.
