AKTIVITI	-          Teacher explains that when students listen to any oral discourse they will find that it contains one or more main idea. -          The main idea is the gist or the summary of the most important points in the discourse. -          Very often, the main idea is supported by examples, descriptions, narratives, definitions, statistics, and quotations. -          The supporting details help to expand upon or develop the main idea. -          Students answer the 3 texts pertaining to the announcement, news item, etc in the worksheet given while listening to the CD.
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	Most of the students were unable to get most of the answers correct the second time the CD was played so the teacher had to do correction with them by playing the CD several times again.

SPEC. : CCTS PEDAGOGICAL STRATEGY: OBJEKTIF	Reading component What is a summary ? -          To write a summary of paragraph using your own words -          Summarising sentences Making summaries Mastery learning General Students will be able to write a summary of the sentences using their own words Specific Students will be able to paraphrase the the sentences given to them into a single sentence.
ACTIVITY	-          Teacher explains to the students that when they are asked to write a summary of a paragraph or text, they are required to select the key points and restate them in their own words without altering the ideas and attitude of the writer -          We need to summarise in order to i.                    Simplify the text so that it is easy to remember ii.                  To answer exam questions iii.                To report on information -          Tr shows some sentences and get students to practice paraphrasing the senetnces to develop their skill in paraphrasing.
REFLECTION	-          Most of the students were able to paraphrase the simple sentences given to them with the teacher’s guide.

AKTIVITI	-          Teacher explains to the students that to infer means to form an opinion or make a judgement based on facts that the writer rpovides and also on your own experience -          When making inferences we make an educated guess about something whihc is not directly stated -          We infer or figure out more than what the words say.
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	Students need the teacher’s guidance to find the meanings of the words.

AKTIVITI	-          Tr explains that the purpose of expository writing is to explain something clearly and accurately -          They also learn how to describe ideas and concepts and another form of expository writing is to describe states and processes -          Writing about states and processes involves a combination of descriptive and narrative skills. -          Tr shows examples of how to desribe a state of existing condition or position of things or persons.

CATATAN / REFLEKSI	Students were doing quite well in their discussion under the teacher’s guide.

AKTIVITI	-          Tr explains that in a discussion we often have to respond to rhe point that has been raised -          We may show our agreement or disagreement with the point -          When we do this we are responding to the agreement or disagreement expressed earlier by others in the discussion -          Students practice some of the common expressions used to respond to agreement and disagreement
CATATAN / REFLEKSI	-          Students were able to learn some expressions to express their agreement on a particular issue with a particular point in a discussion
