Students will be able to paraphrase the paragraphs given to them into a single sentence.

AKTIVITI

  • Tr continues his explanations on summarising paragraphs by reminding the students that when they summarise paragraphs they must;
  1. be able to read and ensure that they understand the paragraph
  2. Find the topic sentence or the main idea of the paragraph
  3. Leave out unnecessary details like examples, illustrations and repertoires
  4. Using their own words to link key words or ideas
  • Tr gets the students to practice summarising the paragraph into few sentences about advertisements.

CATATAN / REFLEKSI

  • Students were able to practice writing the summary of the paragraph under the teacher's guide.

AKTIVITI

  • Tr gets the students to answer exercise A by ticking which statements they agree or disagree in the columns provided.
  • After that they answer exercise B by filling in the following blanks with the suitable responses with the responses agree or disagree.
  • After they had completed the exercises they check their answers with their tr.

CATATAN / REFLEKSI

Students were able to complete the exercises reasonably well.

  • The teacher checks the students exercises A & B together with the students for any mistakes.
  • After the corrections had been made the teacher proceeds to the other exercise for the students to practice answering.

CATATAN / REFLEKSI

  • Most of the students were quite able to answer exercise C on their own without the teacher's guidance.

  • Students encounter difficulty in learning some expressions to express their agreement on a particular issue with a particular point in a discussion as their command of the language is very poor.
