Students will be able to listen to find out the main subject or topic of the news, speech, talk or discussion
Specific
Student will be able to answer the 7 questions pertaining to the news item on a mysterious bright light and the discovery of an archaelogical site
AKTIVITI
-          Teacher explains to the students that they generally listen in order to find out the main  subject or topic of the news item, speech, talk or discussion they are listening to.
-          They also listen in order to find out how the subject or topic is dealt with
-          Students are given two news item on the discovery of an achaelogical site and a mysterious bright light that crossed the east coast of Australia.
-          Students attempt the 7 fill-in-blank questions pertaining to the two news item.
CATATAN / REFLEKSI
Most of the students were able to answer the questions given satisfactorily.

Students will be able to listen to the talk on the reasons obese people give for being overweight
AKTIVITI
      Students listen very carefully to the talk and pay attention to the context in which key words or phrases occur.
- When they listen for the specific details or information, they pay particular attention to the following types of information such as names of people, places and things, statistics, events, reasons and causes.
- students answer the 10 fill-in-the-blank questions on the reasons for people being overweight
CATATAN / REFLEKSI
Only a handful of the  students were able to answer the questions pertaining to reasons people being overweight.

-          Teacher explains to the students that effective note-taking requires mastering the skills of summarising and paraphrasing
-          Summarising involves listening for general information and when students summarise they listen for the main or general idea of a talk, speech, announcement, etc.
-          Students listen to the talk on the importance of learning English and complete the short notes on the importance of learning English.  
CATATAN / REFLEKSI
About half of the class were able to complete the blanks satisfactorily.

-          Teacher poses questions to the students about ways to prepare for public examination and to achive excellent results
-          Students work individually to decsribe the ways of how to fare well in examination
-          After that, students present individually for task A, giving their reasons and elaborations. Teacher assesses the studdents while they present the task.
CATATAN / REFLEKSI
About one third of the students were able to present their task well with simple sentence structures with less grammatical mistakes. The rest need a lot of guidance.
